Bottles from the Springs-Before the Battle!
Bottles from the Springs....9/16/19... your reporter, S. Cornell. Sunday 9/15/19 Psalms 30:1-12 1 I will exalt you, O LORD, for you lifted me out of the depths and did not let my enemies gloat over me. 2 O LORD my God, I called to you for help and you healed me. 3 O LORD, you brought me up from the grave [2] ; you spared me from going down into the pit. 4 Sing to the LORD, you saints of his; praise his holy name. 5 For his anger lasts only a moment, but his favor lasts a lifetime; weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning. 6 When I felt secure, I said, "I will never be shaken." 7 O LORD, when you favored me, you made my mountain [3] stand firm; but when you hid your face, I was dismayed. 8 To you, O LORD, I called; to the Lord I cried for mercy: 9 "What gain is there in my destruction, [4] in my going down into the pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it proclaim your faithfulness? 10 Hear, O LORD, and be merciful to me; O LORD, be my help." 11 You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, 12 that my heart may sing to you and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give you thanks forever.
Gal. 6:7-10 7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8 Whoever sows to please their flesh, from the flesh will reap destruction; whoever sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. The Battle before the Breakthrough! Brother Rev. Vincent Smith was in the house to speak to our 4th anniversary as a congregation! He acted as a Spirit-filled cheerleader reminding us that there are Battles before our Breakthroughs! He came alongside and spoke words of Blessing that lifted us up and got us ready to do what our Lord has already planned for us to do! He was really blowing away the enemies' blinders of discouragement, lies, and distractions! He reminded us that the enemy would not be messing with us unless God had anointed us to do things for God! I know I was encouraged and hope you were too! But one of the best parts of Sunday, I think was the Pot luck luncheon! Any group of Jesus followers needs to regularly eat together! If you look at the early church, they shared food together and communion was a full meal not just a Holy Snack of Crackers and Wine! Remember that Jesus (Matt. 13:14-21) sat down with thousands of people and expected His followers to feed each other! And just when people thought that Jesus was dead, (Luke 24:13-35) He shows up again and eats with them to prove that things were not over, in fact the Church was about to get started and he started it by eating with them-he even cooked his disciples breakfast! (the best Breakfast-Bread and Fish!) (John 21:9) So I hope you were really encouraged by our celebration together around Jesus! Let's do it for 4 more years! But let's not wait that long again to fellowship together around the tables!
